Our Story: A Legacy of Love and Care
Island Kare isn’t just a service—it’s a love story.
Our journey begins with two caregivers, Will and Joy Diorec, whose paths first crossed in Israel over a decade ago. Both had spent years providing care to others, drawn together by a shared passion for helping those in need. In 2010, fate brought them together, and they quickly realized that their connection extended far beyond caregiving. They fell in love, married in Tel Aviv in 2011, and set out on a journey built on a foundation of compassion and service.
For Will and Joy, caregiving isn’t just a profession—it’s deeply rooted in their culture and upbringing. They come from a background where elders are cherished at home, and families care for them with love, dignity, and respect through every stage of life. They witnessed this firsthand with their own grandparents, and these values are at the heart of everything they do.
In 2012, Will and Joy moved to Canada to pursue their passion for caregiving, bringing with them the same dedication and warmth they grew up with. For years, they served as live-in caregivers, treating their clients like family. And in return, their clients embraced them as one of their own.
We treat our clients like family
Island Kare was born from that same belief—that care should be heartfelt, personal, and deeply connected. It’s not just a business to Will and Joy; it’s a way of life. Their mission is to uplift seniors and individuals with disabilities by offering compassionate, personalized care that allows each person to feel valued, supported, and truly at home.
